After two years of nothingness, there is once again light in the dark! Over the last two years I updated this script sporadically now and then, and last summer I decided to put some effort into doing a real update and it’s first now after extensive beta testing that I’ve decided the new version of the script is ready for a release.
For those who aren’t familiar with this mIRCscript, here’s what Media Displayer can display:
- What you’re listening to in Winamp (Only 2.x & 5.x)
- What you’re viewing in Mplayer6.4 - mplayer2.exe (comes with Windows 95/98/ME/2K/XP)
- What you’re viewing in Media Player Classic
- What you’re viewing in VLC Media Player
- What you’re viewing in BSPlayer
- What you’re viewing in ZoomPlayer
- What you’re viewing in PowerDVD
- What you’re viewing in CDisplay
- What you’re encoding in VirtualDub (Works with clones also)
- What you’re downloading/sending in mIRC (DCC)
- Where you’re surfing the web using Internet Explorer/Firefox
- Your DC++ statistics (should work with all DC++ clones)
- Your FlashFXP statistics
- Your FTPRush statistics
- Your Clocks (multiplier, FSB & such), temperatures, voltages, fan speeds through Everest (Ultimate) 4.0
- Your OS
- Your Uptime
- Your Motherboard
- Your CPU
- Your RAM Usage
- Your Harddrive(s) stats
- Your Graphics card
- Your Screen stats
- Your Sound card
- Your Network card
4.0 Changelog:
- Added: VLC Media Player support - /vlc
- Added: Everest 4.0 support - /everest (read the FAQ please)
- Added: DC++ support - /dcpp
- Added: FlashFXP support - /flashfxp
- Added: FTPRush support - /ftprush
- Added: WMI support through COM - Provides lots more information, a little bit slower though and requires Mirc 6.16+
- Added: Improved (more detailed) /gfx support
- Added: Improved (more detailed) /cpu support
- Added: Improved (more detailed) /screen support (removed Hz since most people use LCD monitors nowadays anyway)
- Added: Motherboard info - /mobo
- Added: Sound card info - /sound
- Removed: moo.dll - No need for it anymore when using mircs COM, also it was detected as virus by some (very lame) antivirus apps.
- Removed: Dialup connection support - Relied on moo.dll and was basically pointless
- Removed: mbm5 support - Relied on moo.dll and never heard of anyone using it… Use /everest instead
- Fixed: Loads of small stuff of course, I don’t remember what it was though
- Fixed: Unloading/uninstalling proceedure has been improved greatly & fixed minor bugs
(The old version (3.2) that doesn’t use COM can be downloaded from here)
Don’t forget to read the readme before asking me any questions.

I’ve been using your media displayer for a year and a half now and I must say that it is just amazing. Your 4.0 is still better man!
I’ve read your Readme file but I couldn’t get answer to one query. Actually, I’m active on Dalnet IRC channels since I’m not the operator there, I cannot interfere with the channel modes. As the channels are +c (which means that any text containing color, is bold, or is underlined wouldn’t be displayed on the mains), whenever I type /winamp, the song doesn’t display as some part of the displayer is set in Bold. Is there any I could remove the Bold coding in the displayer ? Please let me know.
Your fan,
Chaitanya
P.S - Please keep up the good work!
