Meldrum

I saw Motörhead, Sepultura & Meldrum on the 18th of December in Lisebergshallen. The show began with Meldrum opening - a quite bad heavy metal band from Stockholm with a singer with ENERMOUS boobs. Meldrum consisted mainly of women, with one man stuck in the back working the drums. They played about 5 songs and got halfassed applauses from the audience, but in the end everyone seemed to enjoy them. Someone yelled out “BIG HOOTERS!” to the singer. She replied with “Fuck you too”. Is that cool or not? I’m not sure.

SepulturaSepultura came on after Meldrum and performed for about 50 minutes. They kicked royal butt. I was totally amazed at their performance, I had never in my life heard such raw hardcore devilish music! Their mainman, Derrick Green, looked like a demon from hell when he screamed out something that recembles vocals and played on the guitar. They where purely awesome! I lost control of my self and floated around in the crowd for awhile and just screaming. And no, I wasn’t drunk :p
I’ll definitly see Sepultura again if they come to Sweden. After Sepultura I was really thirsty because I had jumped about for such a long time with nothing to drink but a coke. So I went up to grab a beer, but surprise surprise. Inbetween the bands the line to the bar was looong. So I sat down next to the stage to await Motörhead and go grab a beer then. When I waited there I could see thru some curtains that lead backstage.. In there, they where. The most badass rock n roll people this world has seen. Lemmy, Phil, Mikkey.. Motörhead. They seemed to have a relaxed conversation while smoking/drinking beer. At that moment I wish I had a backstage pass :)

A few minutes later they went on stage and started to kickass, I took my chance and went for the bar. And sure enough, I got a beer immidieatly. After that I headbanged for another 2hrs to a lot of Motörhead classics and some songs from the latest album (which rocks). When the show had ended they came back up on stage with acoustic guitars and played “Whorehouse Blues” which is the only blues song Motörhead ever recorded I think :)

Motorhead

Obviously, the show kicked major butt. The only bad things I could think of is that Lemmys bass was a little bit too loud, ruined the noice a little. And someone decided to attack me from the back a few times, but I managed to escape that idiot.
